Hunting & Fishing
The Estevan and surrounding area boasts great opportunities for anyone with the outdoors in mind. Hunting and fishing is very popular and are made possible through the hard work of the employees at Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment and volunteer organizations like the Estevan Wildlife Federation. Conservation officers work hard to protect and manage our natural resources while the EWF (Estevan Wildlife Federation) works hard to sustain natural habitat for our fish and wildlife and help educate the public, especially our youth, so that we have fish and wildlife for generations to come.
Boundary Dam is well known for its Largemouth Bass fishery, the only location in Western Canada where you can fight the mighty Largemouth Bass. Fishermen travel for hours to enjoy the experience. A local stocked fishing pond, Pit “C” is a great spot to catch Trout, each year it is stocked with a several different species of trout. To get there travel West on Highway 18, turn South at Boulders Bend. The access is about a mile down the grid road. See licenses for more information.
