Can you believe August is here already? I feel like the summer is absolutely flying by! The first weekend of August is here and that means a long weekend!
To help make the most of the August long weekend, here are 5 activities you can do in Estevan.
1) Have a picnic on the beach at Boundary Dam
Get your rest on Saturday and sleep in. You deserve it! After you wake up, go to your favourite grocery store, and pick up all your picnic essentials. My picnic must-have is a summer salad with spinach, strawberries, walnuts, feta and balsamic poppy seed dressing. I also love to pack a variety of fruits and veggies, as well as meat, cheese and crackers. Saturday will be a hot one, so don’t forget to pack tons of drinks!
Make sure you bring a blanket to sit on to enjoy the food you have packed. There are also picnic tables at the beach. After your tummy is full – make sure you cool off in the water.
2) Take in a ball game
Looking to get in on some baseball action? Then you’re in luck! We have great local talent right in our backyard. The South East U18 AAA Twins have a home game against the Swift Current 57’s on Sunday, August first. The first pitch is thrown at 12:00 pm at Lynn Prime Park.
Cheer loud!
3) Backroads of Estevan Tour
Take a cruise this weekend down the backroads of Estevan and learn some history while you’re at it!
On this tour of Estevan and the area, enjoy the backroads that are filled with historical sites, fantastic lookouts and local folklore.
