Lemon Body Scrub & Body Butter at the Estevan Public Library

On Wednesday, August 15th my sister Shayna and I visited the Estevan Public Library (EPL) to try one of their free programs! We got to make homemade Lemon Body Sugar Scrub and Body Butter! Roxy led the program and she runs all of the adult programs at the EPL! She was a great leader and was very helpful and kind.

First, we started off making the Lemon Body Butter because it needed to cool in the freezer for about 20 minutes. We combined cocoa butter and coconut oil in a pot and warmed it up on the stove to melt the ingredients. After everything was melted we added a few drops of lemon essential oil to give it a lemony smell! Yum! We then left it to cool in the freezer.

While our Body Butter was cooling, we started on the Lemon Body Scrub! To make the Lemon Body Scrub we combined melted coconut oil and a whole bunch of sugar! We then added the lemon essential oil and mixed everything together!

Once we go the Body Scrub done the Body Butter was hardened and ready to be whipped! We were instructed to whip it for about 5 minutes or until it looked like “fluffy white clouds”. Shayna volunteered to whip it up and she did a good job because it turned out great!

After that, we were all finished! I highly recommend checking out the Estevan Public Library’s programs! My sister and I had so much fun and I would love to attend another program in the future! They have free programs all year for kids, teens, and adults! Stop in and register or give them a call at 306-636-1620.

Until my next adventure,

Lorin 🙂
