The City of Estevan would like to advise that construction will be occurring on King Street from Pine Avenue to Kensington Avenue for the next 6 weeks. There is no through traffic allowed between this construction zone.
The detour route includes Peterson Drive to Rooney Road for south bound traffic and Bannatyne Avenue to Henry Street for north bound traffic. The following businesses Estevan Shoppers Mall, Canadian Tire, Tim Hortons, Alliance Church, Midwest Survey, Canada Capital Energy, and Living Hope Church will not have access from their property onto King Street during the construction. Access to these properties will be through Peterson Drive.
Microtel will have limited access from Kensington Avenue. No Frills and Mobil Gas Bar will have access off Spruce Drive only.
Removing barricades in construction zones is extremely dangerous and constitutes an offence under the Criminal Code as well as the Traffic Safety Act. EPS members will be monitoring the area as well as conducting the enforcement. Anyone caught driving through or moving the barricades, could face serious charges.
For the duration of this construction project, please try to avoid requested to avoid this area and find an alternate route. It is important for motorists to allow for additional time when travelling for the duration of this project. We ask you to obey all construction signage including reduced speeds, road closures and local traffic only, and men working as well as the detour signage.
We thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time.
