The City of Estevan was a very different place 61 years ago. Harry Nicholson was mayor, the Star Light Drive-In was a happening place and a lot of people attended their first Estevan Bruins game at the Civic Auditorium.
A time capsule was buried during the construction of the Civic. With the demolition of our old barn in sight we think it is time to open up its contents.

Please join us for a Time Capsule Opening Ceremony on May 15th at 1:00pm in the Estevan Leisure Centre. There will be an opportunity to view items after the official opening.
Items may include lists of members for multiple organizations throughout the community that used the facility including; the Estevan Lions Club and Ladies Auxiliary. We expect to find items such as an edition of Estevan Mercury, Estevan Bruins game day programs and maps of Saskatchewan.
The demolition of the Civic Auditorium, is scheduled to commence on Monday, May 14th, 2018 with a scheduled completion date of June 15th, 2018.
During the demolition process, heavy equipment and truck traffic will increase along 8th Street, 13th Avenue and 6th Street; continuing along the truck route as they transport debris from the demolition site to the City of Estevan landfill.
