I was very excited last Tuesday to take my very first spin class! It’s something I have always wanted to try but never did. The classes at the University I attend usually start at 6am, and I’m not much of a morning person!
When I arrived at the Spin Bar, the instructor, Kendra, was very helpful when it came to setting up the bike as well as explaining what to expect during the class. It made me much more comfortable on what to expect! I liked that she explained what was going on during the class, such as if we were to do sprints for interval training. This allowed everyone to get the best workout they could!

Tips for Spin Class
- Bring a water bottle and a towel
- Wear louse fitted clothing
- Eat a good lunch during the day
- Bring an extra pair of socks, or wear sandals to and from spin class (it is summer!)
I also have to give props to Kendra, her selection of upbeat pop songs are very motivating during class!
I’ve always been a very active person. I go to the gym daily like many people my age, but I will be honest I have never been a huge fan of cardio. Going for an hour long run, that’s a no from me. Spin class, on the other hand, was a YES! I have signed up for more spin classes this summer, and I even have a close friend that will be joining me!
I am not writing about spin to send the message that spin is the best, though it might be, but to send the message that it is EASY to stay in your bubble and FUN to step out of it. There is truly is something for everyone there! Check out the City of Estevan website to learn about all the fitness classes offered at the Leisure Centre! www.estevan.ca
Till next time,
Michelle
