During a public health event, Saskatchewan Health Authority, the Ministry of Health and the Public Health Agency of Canada is the authority, and the general community impact of the virus on residents is within their purview. The City of Estevan’s role is to keep staff healthy, align with directives from the health authority and to ensure essential services operate smoothly.
Park users encouraged to maintain social distancing
Not all City park users are respecting the need for social distancing during this pandemic. With parks being a community-gathering place, social distancing is critical as all citizens, regardless of their age, are at risk of transmitting the COVID-19.

City closing Estevan Leisure Centre and some facilities in response to COVID-19
“We have decided to close non-essential services and facilities effective Tuesday, March 17. This was a decision that Council did not make lightly, but are aligning with the messaging from Health Canada as well as the Government of Saskatchewan.”
