The City of Estevan Leisure Services Division is pleased to announce the start of the Paddling Pool/Playpark Program for 2017. Four (4) different parks, Churchill, Rusty Duce, Hillcrest and Hillside; will be open this year. Crafts, games and activities will be in the mornings from 10am – 12pm and free swimming in the afternoons from 1pm-5pm.
The first day your kids are off school (June 29th) they can come and meet the leaders of the park from 1-5pm. Cassidy Reich, Summer Program Coordinator said “This is a great way to come and see what is happening at your neighbourhood pool. We love meeting all of the kids and starting a summer off full of experiences.”
Reich noted, “Every week there will be different themes that each Playpark program will follow certain themes such as bugs to secret agents. I had a lot of fun planning this summer and am looking forward to all the fun to come.”
There will be special events, special swims and night swims throughout the summer. Monthly calendars will be on hand at each park as well as the City of Estevan Leisure Services facebook page will have all the event details.
Padwick and Torjan parks will not have a Playpark Program this year due to shifting of staff resources to maintain public health safety standards at Churchill and Hillcrest. Erin Wilson, Leisure Services program manager stated that “to maintain public health safety standard, their rules state that pools deeper than 24” must have a lifeguard on duty. We are happy to comply with their rules and look forward to having a safe summer.”
