The role of the Planning and Regulations Department is to facilitate orderly land development within the city. The health, safety, and physical and economic well-being of all of the residents is of paramount importance.

This requires that development be analyzed relative to compatibility between competing land uses. It also requires that the concerns and interests of regulating agencies are coordinated in an orderly and timely manner.
