City of Estevan Invites Residents to Participate in Accessibility Survey

The City of Estevan is inviting residents to take part in its Accessibility Survey, a key step in developing the City’s required municipal Accessibility Plan ahead of Saskatchewan’s provincial deadline of December 3, 2025. The survey aims to gather community insight on how people of all abilities experience municipal facilities, services, and public spaces.

“The survey gives us meaningful, firsthand feedback from residents,” says Marketing & Communications Manager, Jacquelyn Massey-Rounds. “We want to hear about the real barriers community members are facing whether they are physical, communication, or systemic,  so that we can build a plan that reflects the needs of the City.”

The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and is open to all residents, including people with disabilities, caregivers, seniors, families, and anyone who uses City programs or spaces. It provides an opportunity to identify challenges and prioritize areas for future improvement.

The Accessibility Survey has been open since November 18th  and will remain available until December 2nd at 3pm.

Survey results will be compiled and analyzed as the City begins drafting Estevan’s long-term accessibility plans that would be incorporated in operational planning. Feedback will help guide priorities, budgeting, and both short-term and long-term improvements across municipal buildings, outdoor spaces, communication methods, customer service practices, and program delivery.

Residents are encouraged to complete the survey and contribute to building a more inclusive, barrier-free Estevan. The survey can be completed at www.surveymonkey.com/r/accessestevan
