Position Title: Building Official Level 1

Reports To: Land Development Manager

Business Division: Land Development Services

Duties
• Administers and enforces respective provincial and/or federal building codes and regulations, municipal bylaws [building & related bylaws] and regulations pertaining to building and property
• Reviews applications and processes building, moving, demolition and sign permits
• Schedules and performs various on-site inspections for construction
• Researches & assists in preparation of bylaws, policies, plans and processes relating to building regulation and inspections
• Responds to requests for information, investigates complaints and/or bylaw infractions. Issues orders for corrective action
• Logs, records, maintains, and reports pertinent information and data. Maintains files and records
• Assists the public, contractors, designers and associate staff members with
• business division records, bylaws, policies and procedures

Education
• Minimum – 2-year Diploma in relevant field such as Architectural and Building Technologies.
• Must be a member in good standing with Saskatchewan Building Officials Association (SBOA).
• Building Official License Level 1. Those individuals who possess a Level 2 or 3 Building Official License and relevant working experience will be given preference
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Experience and Additional Requirements
• 1 year of relevant working experience
• Advanced computer software proficiency

Salary
This position has a starting salary of $ 40.52 per hour in accordance with the 2023 CUPE rates. Standard working hours apply.
