Position Title: Full-Time Parks Labourer

Reports To: Parks Foreperson

Business Division: Parks Division

Length of Position: Permanent

Summary: This position performs a variety of tasks related to outdoor parks and open spaces maintenance and cemetery operations

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Performs maintenance, including mowing using hand and riding mowers, tree pruning, weed whipping, roto tilling, watering plants, and completes quality control inspections on parks, green spaces, and municipal facilities, including sports venues and beautification assets.
• Schedules and performs required preventative maintenance on recreational assets.
• Works with the Park Foreperson to co-ordinate and/or carry out capital projects or maintenance of capital projects.
• Cleans and maintains required equipment, shop, and tools.
• Perform labour on other Parks projects.
• Promotes and maintains positive public relations.
• Performing all duties in a safety conscious manner.

• Grade 12 or GED equivalent
• First Aid & CPR “C” Level
Permanent Full-Time Parks Staff (Internal)
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Experience and Additional Requirements
• Must be available weekends, holidays and nights as required.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

This position receives an hourly wage of $25.42/Hour, as per 2022 CUPE rates. Applicants must submit a resume, proof of qualifications and may be tested for appropriate skills. This position requires flexibility and availability to work on a shift schedule and call-in basis.
