On June 22nd, The Launch Box will officially open its doors – by appointment only – to entrepreneurs of Southeast Saskatchewan, creating Southeast’s one-stop-shop for innovation. Once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, it will open its doors fully for drop-in activities.
The Launch Box business incubator is fully funded by Western Economic Diversification Canada and will work with business start-ups to build successful businesses.
The newly renovated space is located at 403 9th Avenue, next to Spectra Financial, in the Affinity Credit Union lot and was made possible by a donation from Affinity Credit Union, which provided the office space to house the program. Within the newly updated area, the Launch Box will provide several services.
“Mainly, it will provide a step-by-step incubator program that will work your business from a dream to a reality,” said the Business Resource Centre Manager, Jeff Taylor. “We have workshops planned and mentorship programs all ready to go. We just need your ideas so we can help. And the best part—the incubator portion is free.”
Co-Working space is available for a small fee with desk and computer rentals by the day or month. Board Room rentals are also available. In the Board Room, you will have access to a smartboard and video conferencing tools that will help with pitches or meetings.
The space also can be used for home-based businesses as a virtual office. Taylor explained, “We provide our commercial address for those entrepreneurs that work from their home and need a commercial address for shipping, or receiving.”
The Launch Box will have information that a typical business resource centre will have with access to education materials, networking opportunities and brainstorming meetups with other like-minded individuals.
Taylor added, “We are working on our website; it will be up and running soon. It will list upcoming events and all our services. But for now, if you have a business idea and want some help, call us.”
