More changes coming to the Weight Room

The Estevan Leisure Centres’ Weight Room will be closed on November 5th through the 10th and is slated to reopen on November 11th. This closure will allow for staff and contractors to preform some of the upgrades that the Weight Room Committee has chosen to make their first focus.

During the shutdown users will see upgrades to the facility in many different forms including; a new independent air handling unit that will be installed.  The unit will regulate and circulate air as part of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system to increase the air quality in the room.

Lighting, ceiling tiles, new equipment storage areas, a fresh coat of paint, a new entry card scanning system that compliments the admission software that admissions uses, and a few pieces of equipment will be removed and added to the inventory.

These upgrades won’t be the last of the improvements that you will see over the next few months, but they will allow for a majority of any other work that will be done in the area to be done with minimal interruption in service.

As always, the Committee is welcome to input, and ideas brought forward. You can suggest these ideas by; contacting the Information Desk in the Estevan Leisure Centre and it will be passed on to the Committee; by emailing Program Manager, Erin Wilson at or by contacting any one of the Committee Members. Committee members are as follows; Logan Bomberak, Brian Dueck, Rory Fleming, Becky Franke, Nicole Grass, Adele Irwin, Doug Smart, Sherri Waldegger, Dylan LaFrentz or Erin Wilson.
